What to do with my Vacant Rural Land….Cabin anybody?
It seems we all like to just get away. I know some of you want to stay away! We are drawn to open spaces, natural sounds of birds and crickets, the smell of fresh air, and all the things that rural living offers.
Whether it is a weekend get-a- way or learning to live off-grid, there are many things we can do with our rural, vacant land.
How about a cabin! In my research, I found it can be as difficult or easy as you want. I like easy and so I am going to suggest the later. The thought of building a small cabin takes me back to childhood. I am sure you remember building some sort of fort whether it is outside or inside using your mom’s sheets. And when you made it, it was yours! And then we got to furnish it, remember that feeling?
How fun was it to just make our world.
I did a simple search on “build a cabin” and came up with crazy easy ways to build a small cabin. There is even instruction for solar energy for those who are a bit further off-the- grid than others. So go ahead, try it, do a quick search! There are so many ways to build and furnish your cabin.
Recently while talking to a potential land buyer, the idea crossed my mind, as he was thinking about wanting to build a cabin on his property, of making a cabin into money making venture.
You have heard of the Airbnb places...well, you could have your cabin for yourself when you
want it and during the other times; you can rent it out on Airbnb and make money while you are not using the cabin!
Some of you may hate this idea, but I think it is a great idea on how you can have the property pay for itself. Just a thought!
